Services offered by the Brandenburg point of single contact

The Einheitlicher Ansprechparter für das Land Brandenburg (EAPBbg) was established as Point of Single Contact as required under the EU Services Directive 2006/123/EC in 2009 to substantially simplifying business start-ups and operations in the services sector.  

Since January 2016, services concerning the recognition of professional qualifications pursuant to the Professional Qualifications Directive (2005/36/EC) have also been offered by the EAPBbg. This applies to the recognition of professional qualifications acquired in other EU Member States, in EEA States Parties or in Contracting States with mutual recognition of qualifications in professions of which exercise is subject to special conditions in Germany.

On the EAPBbg internet portal you can find out about the required administrative procedures and formalities relevant for your business. Moreover, you can complete these formalities electronically. The EAPBbg acts as an intermediary and a case handler and – upon request of a service provider - coordinates the conduct of all of the procedures and formalities required for the start-up of a business in services or for the exercise of a service activity. The EAPBbg supports service providers during the entire procedure until a final decision has been made by the responsible public body.

3. Electronic process handling

You can manage the procedures and formalities applicable to the access or the exercise of a service activity in the state of Brandenburg electronically via the EAPBbg portal with the help of online-assistants. After entering the basic details about your project you can submit the relevant forms and documents. The EAPBbg acts as an intermediary and coordinates the process between you as the service provider and the competent authorities. You will receive your approval/answer from the public bodies. The following administrative procedures can be conducted via the EAPBbg:

  • Registration, change of registration and deregistration of a business
  • Permission procedures for business requiring an approval
  • Professional procedures, registrations in professional registers or rolls
  • General procedures for non-specified requests

Regarding the recognition of professional qualifications the following procedures can be conducted via the EAPBbg:

  • Recognition of professional qualifications acquired in an EU Member State or a Contracting State
  • Recognition of professional qualifications as a career requirement for civil servants

Of course, it is still possible for you to conduct your administrative procedure in paper form. The EAPBbg will assist you in doing so.
